Getting ready
The key to getting active is finding an activity that interests you. If you find something enjoyable, then you're more likely to stick to it.
Some people like going to a group activity or class. Others like to be active on their own. You could play a sport, find a physical activity to do with a friend, or find ways to be active from home.
What do you prefer?
Any physical activity is better than none. If you currently don’t do any exercise, start by doing some, and gradually build up to the recommended amount.

5 Steps for Getting Started
1. Interest
What would you like to try? Here are some ideas. Make a list of activities or sports you might like to do or try out. Pick one to start with.
2. Where
Find out locations, times, costs of the activity or sport.
3. Equipment
What equipment or other information do you need? Make a list or use this checklist.
4. Diary
Make a plan. Look at your weekly timetable and see when you can plan to do this activity.
5. Starting
Ease into it! Start small and allow your body to adjust to being more active. You can build up the amount of time or intensity of your activity as you settle into a routine.
